Karla Gonzo
Born in 1989 in El Salvador, Karla is a visual artist, photographer and graphic designer. She began her artistic studies at the National Centre of Arts as a child and after she returned from Nicaragua, where she studied abroad a B.A. in Business Administration. Developing her career in commerce and digital marketing, she decided to follow a technical degree in Graphic Design at Universidad Don Bosco. In 2014, as a hobby she took Photography courses which eventually became ever since, her dream job as an independent events photographer in El Salvador and Guatemala, synchronically co-founding the "Self-Love Project" as boudoir and individual, professional portraits for everyone.
Karla's eternal love has always been painting and drawing. In 2019, resumed her approach to visual arts learning printmaking and inked illustrations. She released 2 limited-edition coloring books for children in coastal beaches for the environmental NGO Let's Do It. She has painted 11 murals within El Salvador, Honduras and Perú, and some indoor private projects. Her paintings, drawings, photography and printmaking have been exhibited collectively in 17 events at Ex-Casa Presidencial, MARTE, CENAR, Centro de Artes de Occidente, Pinacoteca Roque Dalton-UES, Pascal Gallery, USAM, Gato Negro Tattoo & Art Gallery, Casa de la Cultura SS, Arte en la Piel Studio and Europa Coopera project in public spaces. She began teaching painting workshops in 2021 launching Paint Parties to every public.
Karla actively participates in cultural mediation workshops, artistic residency "Resistencias Líquidas" by CCESV and other environmental activism. Member of the IWS and Colectivo Arteria.
